La citation est de Laura Brunow Miner, une photographe freelance à la tête d’une multitude de projets divers (directrice de JPG Magazine, marketing designer pour la société Gould Evans, maitre de conférence à la première édition du Creative Mornings à San Francisco sur le thème « Why we work ? »…).
Parmi ce florilège d’initiatives, celle du Phoot Camp nous a particulièrement retourné la tête. Le concept, pourtant simple, se veut terriblement efficace : réunir en un seul et même endroit pendant quelques jours, une trentaine de photographes venant du monde entier. Venant d’horizons et de cultures différents, ce « melting-pot » donne naissance à des clichés transpirant de sincérité, d’authenticité et de bonne humeur. Un moment « hors du temps » qui se déroule chaque année depuis 2009. Phoot Camp incarne les valeurs de sa fondatrice Laura Miner qui encourage dans tout ce qu’elle entreprend « le rejet de la complexité superficiel » pour aboutir à la concrétisation d’idées simples allant à l’essentiel. Phoot Camp c’est ça ; des gens simples devenus amis en peu de temps, avec une envie folle de découvrir l’autre et d’apprendre de lui. Un contexte qui bien évidemment est propice à la créativité et permet aux artistes de mûrir et faire grandir « leur art »

The citation from Laura Brunow Miner, a freelance photographer in charge of various projects (head of JPG Magazine, marketing designer for Gould Evans, conference master at the first edition of the Creative Mornings in San Francisco on the theme « Why we work ? »…).
Among this plethora of initiatives, the Phoot Camp one has struck us and completely turned our heads around. The concept, quite simple, is really efficient: reunite in one same place for a few days, thirty photographers from all over the world. From different countries and different cultures, this “melting-pot” gives birth to clichés sweating with truth, authenticity and that happy feeling. A moment “out of time” that takes place every year since 2009. PhootCamp embodies the values of its founder Laura Miner whom encourages in all the projects she takes on, “the superficial complexity rejection” to end up realizing simple idea by going straight to the essential. That is PhootCamp; simple people who quickly became friends, with a crazy craving of discovering one another. A context that is obviously perfect for creativity and enable artists to do their coming out and make their art grow.

Dentro de este florilegio de iniciativas, la del Phoot Camp nos ha parecido la más tremenda de todas. El concepto, muy simple, resulta ser muy eficaz: juntar en un solo mismo lugar durante algunos días, treinta fotógrafos del mundo entero. Con culturas diferentes, estas personas forman un “melting-pot” que nos ofrece fotografías con mucha sinceridad, autenticidad, y buen humor. Pues, un momento “fuera del tiempo” que se desarrolla cada año desde 2009. Phoot Camp representa los valores de Laura Miner que fomenta en todo lo que inicia el “rechazo de la complexidad superficial” para ir al esencial. Eso es Phoot Camp: personas sencillas que vuelven amigas en poco tiempo y que tienen ganas de descubrir sus compañeros y aprender de ellos. Un contexto que, evidentemente, es propicio a la creatividad y que permite a los artistas madurar su arte.
Para tener una mejor visión de lo que es realmente Phoot Camp; la video de la edición 2010 que se desarrolló en una casa en Los Ángeles, les permitirá comprender el concepto.
